A GUIDE ON HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT CARPET SIZE FOR EACH ROOM

Carpet is an important design feature; It adds much-needed warmth, color and texture to the room while trying to keep everything as one. One of the most common mistakes people make when purchasing rugs is choosing something they like rather than something that fits their space. Today I am going to give you some important tips to avoid making many mistakes and to take home from the useless proportion.

LIVING ROOM:

Here are some tips to help you choose the right rug for your living room:

- Make sure your rug is larger than the largest piece of furniture. The longest part of the rug should be longer and longer than the seat or section (at least 6 inches on each side).

- Leave Aisle Space - Leave 18" or more from carpet to wall (unless your chair is against the wall).

- Size, Size, Size - Match your rug to your furniture and space! You don't want too big a rug and small furniture or vice versa.

Suggested dimensions for the living room: 8'x10', 9'x12'.

BEDROOM:

Here are some tips to help you choose the right rug for your bedroom:

- Don't choose a rug that is smaller or larger than your bed.

- Perfect if you have a large bed, as long as the rug stretches 2/3 of the way in front of the bed and the longest part of the rug is longer and longer than the bed.

Recommended bedroom dimensions: 6'x'9', 8'x10' (you can make it smaller or larger depending on your bedroom and bed size).

DINING ROOM:

Here are some tips to help you choose the right rug for your dining room:

- Stay away from rugs that are too small and don't match the furniture.

- Cover tables and chairs with paint tape and make sure they stay in place when you pull the chair out.

- If the sofa is half, the carpet is too small and you need to enlarge it.

Dining Room Suggested Sizes: 8'x10', 9'x12'

Round Placemat Recommended Sizes: 6' or 8'
